In keeping with the seasons laid-back vibe, tie-dye resurfaced in many fashion designer collections. The revival of this hippie print is far from being a free love extravaganza. The tie dye effect on hair can be as extreme with the use of funky colors as seen on Lauren Conrad or as wearable as the trends seen today on Good Morning Texas by Lure Salon. More…

If you spent a good chunk of change on your hair cut and color, but still find
yourself throwing it up in a pony tail, you may be a victim of bad summer
hair! More…
With the humidity and heat, hair really suffers, so we went to Lure Salon in Uptown, to get some tips from the professionals on how to get out locks looking gorgeous for the rest of summer and they’re all styles you can do yourself at home. And each girl was dressed beautifully in the latest fashion by Merge Boutique at Preston and Royal. For limp hair try pulling it to the side and braiding it into a fish tail braid. For curly hair, don’t fight frizz, go with it! Big hair is beautiful, just curl the top pieces so they’re smooth. Instead of a boring pony, try making a big bun for dramatic flair. And if your bangs are out of control, braid them and tuck them under your hair to create a hair-able headband!

Lure Salon Review

“The new West Village spot has a natural, organic thing going on and we like it. The open space, styled by Dallas interior designer Bryan Wetz, features pale wood furniture, a “woven” glass wall, and pops of orange color. The table at the center of the salon—which sits atop a beautiful weathered wood bench—offers healthy snacks, like dried fruit and chocolate-covered almonds, and detox tea. Wine and beer is available, too. The trio of owners (formerly at Osgood O’Neil) uses a combination of hair care lines like Kérastase, Oribe designed by J. Lo’s stylist, and a few unique Italian lines that aren’t sold anywhere else locally. An area devoted to wedding preparation has enough room for the entire bridal party, and the dramatically designed restrooms are worth a visit.”

Lure Salon Review

“Lure Salon is promoting this sort of natural, organic vibe, and you can see it immediately when you walk in the door. The space is open, window-y, and furnished in light wood with pops of orange. Designer Bryan Wetz stayed true to his trademark modern-with-natural-materials thing, and we like the clean look. (I could have stayed in one of the restrooms forever with its glossy black walls and funky silver chandelier.) In the center of the shop sits a fantastic weathered wooden bench under a table that’s stocked with healthy treats. Yesterday, we spied mixed dried fruits, chocolate covered almonds, and detox tea. (But don’t worry fellow drinkers; wine and beer is served, as well.) Lure Salon is across from Lash Studio and next to our favorite dehairer, Wink. Don’t hesitate to book an appointment, either.” –– Raya Ramsey
